Colorado CBT offers both doctoral and masters level training experiences:
Doctoral: practicum, pre-doctoral internship (see the Doctoral Internship training page for more info), and post-doctoral fellowship training and supervision.
Masters: practicum, internship, post-masters (LPCC) training and supervision.
Trainees will have the opportunity to provide individual therapy to adult clients presenting with a variety of symptoms, diagnoses, and needs. Our team of highly skilled therapists specialize in a range of areas, including anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, grief, insomnia, OCD, perinatal mental health, relationships, and trauma. We provide trainees with the opportunity to engage in both in-person and online therapy.
Colorado CBT’s multidisciplinary team of therapists provide a variety of treatments including:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing.
Colorado CBT currently has three trainee supervisors: Dr. Megan McKnight, Dr. Mike Hart, Dr. Aaron Smith.
Colorado CBT is open to working with a variety of training programs and to date has partnered with the following Universities:
1. Denver University
2. Northwestern University
3. Capella University
We are looking for students who:
1. Provide thoughtful and skilled clinical care to clients.
2. Are looking for long-term opportunities (many trainees have stayed on for employment!).
3. Complete clinical documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
4. Maintain confidentiality and behave in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
5. Are eager to participate in trainings and certifications outside and within Colorado CBT.
6. Value being a part of a cohesive team.
7. Are able to manage a caseload independently.
8. Have excellent computer and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
We have a rolling admission process and we recommend that you apply as early as possible.
