Psychological Assessment
In addition to therapeutic and psychiatric services, Colorado CBT also provides psychological assessments. Psychological assessments are a comprehensive evaluation of your mental health needs and their results can solidify your diagnosis and include personalized treatment recommendations. Utilizing multiple methods of assessment, including a clinical interview and formal testing, Dr. Mike Hart or Dr. Krystal Moroney aim to help you better understand yourself and your mental health. Following completion of a psychological assessment, Dr. Hart or Dr. Moroney will provide you with a report that summarizes the testing results, provides diagnosis (if appropriate), and offers recommendations tailored to your needs for treatment to help you address your concerns.
Colorado CBT offers psychological assessments for adults (ages 18+) for ADHD and learning disorders, intelligence, and diagnosis of general mental health concerns. Our assessment process begins with a phone consultation to discuss your needs and whether assessment might be a fit for you. Afterward, we will meet for an interview and testing, which typically takes 3-4 hours and can be scheduled in one chunk of time or split across multiple meetings. Some portions of the assessment can be completed by telehealth if desired, though others require meeting in person. Following completion of testing, Dr. Hart or Dr. Moroney will synthesize the testing data and upon completion meet with you for a feedback session, at which time he will review and explain the testing results and recommendations with you and provide you a copy of the report.
You may benefit from psychological assessment if you:
- Have tried therapy or medication treatment for mental health concerns on multiple occasions and have not benefited.
- Have received different mental health diagnoses from providers and do not know which diagnosis fits or what contributes to your mental health concerns.
- Suspect you have Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or problems with concentration, learning, or motivation at work or school.
- Experience recurrent problems in your relationships with partners, family, and friends and have difficulty understanding why.
- Wonder if some of your challenges might be associated with symptoms associated with Autism Spectrum.
Colorado CBT's assessment service fee is a flat rate of $1800. To make this service accessible, we offer several payment plan options. Please note that Dr. Hart (and soon Dr. Moroney) is in-network with Aetna so this service may be covered by your benefits. We advise that you contact your insurance plan to determine if assessment services can be reimbursed by your specific plan. Upon request we will provide a medical invoice (Superbill) at the end of the assessment process if you would like to submit the invoice for out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance. Contact us today if you would like to discuss how a psychological assessment could be beneficial for you.
*If a briefer or less comprehensive assessment is requested, please reach out to us to discuss fees.
